Tactical voting is making headlines in the UK as the general election starts to get into full swing. The announcement that the Brexit Party won’t stand candidates in the seats the Conservatives currently hold has focused the minds of remain minded voters and organisations.

Tactical voting has proved to be very powerful in past elections, playing a big role in Tony Blair’s election landslide in 1997, according to Stephen Fisher, professor of political sociology at the University of Oxford.

There are a number of websites that offer advice on how to cast your vote tactically in the upcoming election. Most seem to favour remain or delivering an outcome most likely to bring about a second referendum.
